Pegasus in flight

Did you know...?

Pegasus was born from the neck of a Gorgon, the snake-haired Medusa,
when Perseus beheaded her.
His father was Poseidon, who had slept with Medusa before she was
transformed into a Gorgon by Athene.
At first, Pegasus lived on Mount Helicon, with the 9 Muses
who represent the classsical arts.
The mortal Bellerophon tamed him and rode him during
his adventures, until offending Zeus.
Zeus threw Bellerophon back to Earth, by causing Pegasus to rear up.
Pegasus then became the bearer of Zeus's thunderbolts,
and was honoured by him with his own constellation.
